Study recommends Fat around the hip in Women
June 07, 2005
In Women, fat stored around their hips can actually prevent heart
disease, diabetes and a high blood pressure, scientists inform.
According to the researchers, "apple-shaped" women with
excess fat around the waist are likely to be less healthy than curvaceous,
"pear-shaped" women with more fat around their hips.
The report found that fat cells around the stomach drain fatty
acids to the blood much more easily than fat cells elsewhere, thereby
damaging the insulin system and raising the risk of diabetes and
heart disease.
But a pear-shaped woman carry fat around the hips, where it is
more likely to produce Adiponectin - a hormone having anti-inflammatory
effect and associated to a reduced risk of heart disease.
These results have come up as good news for millions of women and
would surely empower them in their efforts towards Weight Control.
